Whether you’re taking part on the pitch, supporting a team or enjoying the day with family and friends, everyone is welcome.
Approximately 1,000 people in Powys receive a new cancer diagnosis every year, this means that there are always around 5,000 people in Powys living with and beyond cancer, every year. Those living with a cancer diagnosis, and their families, face not only the terrible news of this diagnosis but also new personal and impactful challenges that this news and treatment programme bring to their lives.
The money raised through Ruck Cancer 2027 will help support initiatives that enhance patient experiences and wellbeing. We aim to provide the little things that can make the biggest difference, such as:
- Support with travel for treatment
- Support with accommodation needed for treatment
- Warm socks or slippers with non-slip soles
- A neck or travel pillow for better rest
- Eye mask and earplugs
- Lip balm (hospital air is often very dry)
- Moisturiser or hand cream
- Hairbrush or comb
- Facial wipes
- Headphones or earbuds
- Power bank
- Books or magazines
- Puzzle books (crosswords, Sudoku)
- Knitting, crafts, or hobbies that can be done from bed/chair
- A reusable water bottle
