When you choose to fundraise for us, you are choosing to support those extra little things that can make a world of difference to the experience’s patients, staff and visitors have within Powys Teaching Health Board. The aim of Powys Health Charity is to support patients and staff, improving their wellbeing and their experience, delivering charitable projects above and beyond what can be provided through NHS funding.

Powys Health Charity has funded hundreds of projects with the main purpose of providing a better service for patients and a better working environment for Powys NHS staff.

All funds raised are used to make a positive difference. This could range from providing staff wellbeing facilities, improving patient experience, giving our staff opportunities to focus on their wellbeing or providing additional equipment for patients to improve their overall experience.

How can you fundraise?

There are many ways you can fundraise in aid of Powys Health charity to help make a positive difference to the health and wellbeing of the people of Powys.

If you’re the adventurous type then you could raise money by hiking the peaks around Powys, taking part in that fun run, marathon or ultra marathon or by doing that parachute jump you’ve always thought about, the skies the limit (no pun intended).

There are also many more sedate ways to help raise money, like holding a bake sale, having a tea party, holding a sponsored karaoke event, or running a fundraising quiz. The question is (pun intended this time) which one will you choose?

You may even have your own ideas on what you could do to fundraise for our Chairty.

Our Charity team can help you can set up your own fundraising page to donate directly to our charity.

Having your own fundraising page allows you to personalise your fundraising activity and your story. You can also keep adding information to your page so that those who are sponsoring you and donating to your fundraising event can be updated on your progress.

: If you’re thinking of organising a fundraising event then contact Powys Health Charity first. We will be able to provide support and advice. It will also help us to ensure the money you raise is used to support the specific services for which you are fundraising

: Powys Health Charity manages a variety of funds some of which are given without a direct purpose which means our Charity can use the money for any project that helps improve our services or patient experience or hospital environment.

Some of the funds are for the benefit of specific NHS teams across the whole of Powys, such as our dedicated District Nurses team, or our marvellous Midwifery team.

Some funds are for the specific benefit of patients across Powys such as funding emergency hospital admission welcome packs, or arts and crafts activities for patients.

We know that Powys Teaching Health Board (PTHB) is a large organisation and there may be a service, ward or a specific hospital which you may have a relationship with. For example, it maybe your local area, or a ward/ or service which you have a personal connection with.

Whatever you decide it is important you tell us what you’re fundraising for.

You can do this by contacting us and together we can iron out the how’s, the why’s the do’s and the don’ts so that the money you raise is used for the purposes you intend.
