The charity team recently had the opportunity to participate in the 2024/25 Wellbeing Roadshows, a series of events held across Powys Teaching Health Board’s main hospital sites. These roadshows were designed to support the health and wellbeing of staff while providing a platform for the charity and other organisations to engage directly with our wonderful and dedicated staff.

Throughout the initiative, the charity team visited several key locations across the region, offering resources, support, and information on how charitable donations could benefit both patients and staff.

“Our focus was on supporting the wellbeing of the incredible healthcare professionals who work tirelessly to care for the community,” said the Martin O’Brien Charity Manager. “We were there to listen, learn, and speak with staff about their needs, offering practical support and exploring ways charitable funds could make a difference.”

The Wellbeing Roadshows took place at a variety of main hospital sites within the Powys Teaching Health Board, including:

  • Brecon War Memorial Hospital
  • Bronllys Community Hospital
  • Llandrindod Wells Memorial Hospital
  • Bro Ddyfi Community Hospital, Machynlleth
  • Llanidloes & District War Memorial Hospital
  • Ystradgynlais Community Hospital
  • Victoria Memorial Hospital, Welshpool
  • Montgomeryshire County Infirmary, Newtown
  • Knighton Community Hospital
  • Glan Irfon Health and Care Centre, Builth Wells

“The roadshows were all about raising awareness of the wellbeing resources available to staff and ensuring that they felt supported in their roles,” said Martin. “We aimed to foster a greater sense of community and highlight the ways charitable donations can positively impact both the workforce and the patients they care for.”

Following the successful completion of the roadshows, the charity team expressed its gratitude for the opportunity to connect with staff and deepen its commitment to supporting the health and wellbeing of healthcare workers across Powys.
