Our 30th Birthday Site Tour

By Shania Jones

We have thoroughly enjoyed getting out and about, meeting so many fantastic staff members, and sharing more about our charity; what we do, our upcoming 30th birthday activities, and how we can support departments across Powys. These visits gave us a valuable opportunity to connect directly with teams, hear about their work, and explore how charitable funding can continue to make a difference for both patients and staff.

It wasn’t all work, though! Along the way, we added a little fun with our “Spot the Ball” competition, where lucky participants were in with a chance of winning a Powys Health Charity goodie bag.

Congratulations to all of our winners:

  • Katherine Nield – District Nurse, Spa Road
  • Annabelle Parsons – Receptionist, Llandrindod Hospital
  • Victoria Deakins – Lead Therapist (North Locality)
  • Louise Bennet – Ynys-y-Plant
  • Dr Farjaz Khurshid – Machynlleth
  • Katie Morris – Hotel Services, Llanidloes
  • Patience Mbaulu – Sonographer, Ystrad
  • Sharon Evans – Physiotherapy Team, Knighton
  • Ruth Walker – Physiotherapy Team, Welshpool
  • Susmita Singjali – HCA, Y Bannau Ward, Brecon
  • Kasia DiMaria – Eating Disorders Team, Bronllys

Thank you to everyone who took the time to come and speak with us. We hope you enjoyed the visits as much as we did.

Charity Manager Martin reflected on the experience:

“Looking back on our tour of all 10 sites, what a brilliant time we had! It was such a joy to connect with our amazing staff, share a few smiles, and celebrate the incredible care they deliver every single day. Meeting so many passionate teams left us feeling hugely proud-and it was fantastic to chat about Powys Health Charity and how we can keep supporting both staff and patients across Powys.
And of course, we couldn’t resist adding a little fun to the mix!”

What’s Next?

Our 30th birthday celebrations are continuing with more exciting activities ahead. Next up is our 30th Birthday Skydive-a fantastic opportunity to take on a new challenge while raising vital funds.

We’re also excited to be working on a special partnership with Cradoc’s Biscuits for our 30th birthday celebrations, with more details coming soon.
