Dementia Friendly Signage
In October, Powys Health Charity supported a project for notice boards, posters and signage to help provide a better environment for patients and service users living with dementia at our community hospital sites.
The aim was to help them navigate our hospitals and wards with ease, as well as providing prominent displays for information. This project was for every community hospital in Powys as part of an initiative to provide more dementia friendly environments for patients and their families.
‘The improvements that you have put in place will make a HUGE difference not just to people like me but to anyone arriving there. The new signage, the appointments board and the different coloured, clearly visible door make it all so clear.
It makes one feel that you have arrived at a modern facility from which you will receive the treatment and care you may need, making it so re-assuring.’
